OUR STORY

Drs. Stefan Harzen and Barbara Brunnick have been exploring the lives of dolphins for decades. Their passion for these marvelous creatures, and all marine life, has taken them on many exciting adventures from the Pacific Northwest to Europe, from the tropical Pacific to the Caribbean before they settled down in the Palm Beaches. For the last 15 years they have been studying dolphins in Palm Beach County, focusing on the socio-ecology of the animals, and how their overall health relates to our own health and wellbeing.

Focused on environmental stewardship, conservation and wildlife education, Stefan founded Palm Beach and Jupiter Dolphin Tours to provide people of all walks of live with the opportunity to watch wild dolphins up close, while using the revenues to finance the important conservation work of the Taras Oceanographic Foundation and its Palm Beach Dolphin Project..

NATURALISTS

Certified dolphin experts and/or marine naturalists are leading every tour of Palm Beach and Jupiter Dolphin Tours. Some of them have been studying marine biology, others obtained their qualification through the completion of a special course developed and delivered by Barbara J Brunnick, Ph.D. from the Taras Oceanographic Foundation.

Our naturalists are experts on dolphins, local wildlife and marine ecology, naturalist interpretation techniques, but also local landmarks. As a result we deliver informative, educational, entertaining, and memorable experiences to all of our guests.

For your peace of mind, they are also trained to respond to any emergencies.

ENVIRONMENTAL
STEWARDSHIP

Palm Beach and Jupiter Dolphin Tours is a sustainable company, operating on a minimal ecological footprint, carrying out carbon neutral dolphin expeditions (we offset our carbon through seagrass restoration), and donating all net revenues to dolphin conservation research. We believe in building a better future for our oceans while actively promoting Green Business and Green Tourism Principles.

CARBON NEUTRAL TOURS

Palm Beach and Jupiter Dolphin Tours is a sustainable and climate conscious company and it is with pride and excitement that we provide carbon neutral dolphin expeditions/tours through carbon offsetting via the Seagrass Grow Initiative of the Ocean Foundation. So join us on a great adventure and allow our marine naturalists to introduce you to the Palm Beach portion of the Atlantic Ocean we are so fortunate to call home. It is great way to learn how you can make a difference and help protect our natural jewels and resources.

RESEARCH & CONSERVATION

Your participation in our dolphin expedition tours directly supports the continuous and long-term research conservation of resident and transient bottlenose and Atlantic spotted dolphins along the coast of Palm Beach County (Palm Beach Dolphin Project).

Barbara J Brunnick, Ph.D. and her team have been studying these populations for more than a decade, but broader support is needed to ensure that these magnificent creatures survive and thrive.

OUR PARTNERS

Our principals and the company are members of a variety of important research and business organizations, including the Society for Marine Mammalogy, the European Association for Aquatic Mammals, The American Cetacean Society, the Explorers Club, the Marine Industry Association, and Internations.

We currently support the Taras Oceanographic Foundation, and work with the Make a Wish Foundation to provide some low low-income, or otherwise challenged, children and families with free dolphin tours.
